About

Thank you for taking the time to look at my page. Having taken up photography some 9 years I was pretty much a point and shoot guy. Camera on Auto and click until about 4 years ago when I decided to get serious with it. I wanted to learn what all the options were in the menu and why there were so many. I had a few lessons with a local photography tutor and I started shooting landscapes and night scenes over the first year or two. I then progressed onto portrait photography, studying how to pose someone and use the light to my advantage, before taking up a monthly space in the Tesco Extra store in Inverness. This mainly involved taking images of babies and young children which was a lot of fun. "Never work with children and animals they say" I now know why. Joking aside it was a great learning experience for me and one that I thoroughly enjoyed. Recently I have ventured into the Wedding Photography business which is where I have really found my passion for photography. To be able to capture what goes into this day and the hard work and the emotions of it all truly is an honour.

Wedding photography can be very high pressure. After all it only happens once and there are no second chances when it comes to taking the images. It has to be right and that feeling of pressure is like a drug to me. I absolutely love the buzz and adrenaline rush of photographing the big day. It is amazing and I love it. I love being around the bride and the groom during this momentous occasion, recording the moments in the morning such as having the hair done, make-up, getting dressed, straightening that tie and so on. Getting to witness and record the tears of joy and happiness run down the cheek of the father of the bride at the moment he sets eyes on his daughter in her bridal gown and then as we move through the day to the moment the bridal party enters the room and all the guests eyes are admiring the beauty of the flower girls, bridesmaids and the bride herself. And then catching the sparkle in the eyes of the groom as he sets his eyes on his beautiful bride as she floats down the isle to be with the one she loves.

A wedding day truly is a momentous day and one that I would like to capture for you. I have invested a lot in my equipment to ensure that I have the best glass available for my camera, rendering the best colours, contrast and detail that I can give. Most photographers will say "it's not the camera that makes the shot but the photographer" which is true but I want to make sure that my camera will do what I want, when I want. And with the equipment I have, I have peace of mind knowing that my camera will perform in any situation.
